Ponte City – a house in Africa

Ponte City Apartments is the highest residential building in Africa. It has a 54 storey skyscraper and height of 173 meters, built in 1975. Initially, the Ponte City was planned to build a jail, because the crime rate in this region exceeded the limit, and thieves and murderers should have been somewhere placed.
The authorities decided that for bandits is a best solution to make out of this building a jail. The idea was great and they went to build this complex. Time passed, and Ponte City turned into a regular apartment house in which comfort was not increased. Now, you will see how it looks, where people live and where was  supposed to be a place for prisoners.
